Native Land is an investment and development company situated off Southwark Street. Street. They have a track record of delivering high quality developments in London, including NEO Bankside.

The site has an existing consent for a masterplan covering both the sites of the former Sampson and Ludgate Houses, as well as the railway arches between both sites, with planning permission granted to the previous owners, the Carlyle Group. The site was bought in 2016 and in 2017, we submitted a ‘Minor Material Amendment’ (Section 73) for a number of the building which Southwark Council granted permission for later that year. We subsequently submitted another planning application to Southwark Council in May 2018 for the Sampson House site, otherwise known as Bankside Yards East, to provide additional affordable housing onsite, more suitable private housing, new public realm and a world-class hotel.  The Council resolved to grant permission for this application in February 2020.

Multiplex Construction Europe Limited (Principal Contractor) have agreed a Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) with Southwark Borough Council. The aim of this CEMP is to provide an overarching and strategic framework for the management of environmental effects and the implementation of measures prior to, and during, the construction phase of the development. As part of the CEMP Multiplex have agreed to have four continuous dust and noise monitors in place on site to monitor the levels created and to respond to any exceedances.

Novotel Blackfriars

With the first building now complete and the second starting to rise out of the ground, we invite you to join us to celebrate this milestone achievement. Members of the community are invited to join our team at the Novotel Blackfriars for an update work taking place on site, and a look ahead to the work Multiplex has planned in 2024. Refreshments will be provided.

Sampson House

Although there are currently no works on the Sampson House site, McGee are still the contractors on-site and will be continuing to be present on-site. There are no planned works until the New Year.
